Girl’s Clinic

On Sunday October 30th, Seven Hills is partnering with GUM to host a free girls clinic open to all middle and high school girls. It will be held at Franklin High School from 12-4pm.

Practices:

The first practice for all teams will be Sunday, December 11th. For the full practice schedule, check our website: http://www.sevenhillsultimateclub.com/practice-schedule

Note that, this season, workshop and community service days will be on Saturdays in January and February in order to allow us to have more practices during the short season. All Seven Hills players are expected to attend these team events as part of their commitment to growth as well rounded community members.

New Teams:

Based on overwhelming interest last year, the Club is expanding this season. We are adding two middle school Green Teams (boys and girls). The Green Teams are for younger or newer middle school players. The Yellow Teams will be for older, or more experienced middle schoolers. Both teams will be smaller than last year’s Middle School Yellow team in order to help keep our coach to player ratio low. By doubling the number of middle school teams, more middle school-aged players will have a chance to join the Club, and this will position the Club to add more High School squads, possibly as soon as next season, pending financial viability, coach availability, and field space access.

Seven Hills Tournament:

New this season! In March the Club will host an invitational tournament. All Seven Hills teams will participate, along with some of the top programs from around the country. We hope that this will become an annual event to cap off each Seven Hills season.

Coaches:

We are currently working on putting together our full 2016-17 coaching staff. Expect to see some familiar faces along with some new ones. We will be making coach announcements soon.

Player Fees:

The Club remains committed to providing full and partial scholarships to all players in need. We are determined that Seven Hills will remain accessible to all players that are mission fit and passionate about becoming better ultimate players and people. That said, the Club is increasing player fees for the 2016-17 season to $400. The increase is necessary to support the added opportunities outlined above and to put the Club on solid financial footing.

During the 2015-16 season the Club ran a significant deficit, which we had hoped to cover with donations and fundraising. Ultimately, those efforts fell short and the Club’s founders, Sarah, Shannon, and Alyssa, covered the deficit with their personal funds.

We are committed to running a sustainable program while also continuing to improve the program in response to player feedback and expand where possible. Raising player fees will allow the Club to cover operating costs and plan for growth without having to rely on additional fundraising.

If you have questions, check our site (http://www.sevenhillsultimateclub.com/) or feel free to email us (sevenhillsultimate@gmail.com).

Thanks,

Seven Hills Ultimate Club Staff
